Here's how to use our new Library Catalog and the CLEVNET services.

CLEVNET Research Databases

CLEVNET EMedia. For our EBook readers.

You can now download music MP3's for free from this great library service provided through Clevnet and Library Ideas, LLC. Click the icon to learn more about FREEGAL Music. You will need to enter your library card number and will be limited to 3 downloads per week. The FAQ section should answer all your questions about this great new service.

On Monday, October 3, 2011 the Girard Free Library officially joined CLEVNET, a consortium of 37 library systems across 10 counties in northeast Ohio.  This includes the Cleveland Public Library—one of the largest research libraries in the country.  Our patrons will now have access to over 10 million items and more than fifty new databases, as well as the Ohio EBook  service.

Sharing technological costs and using volume discounts through CLEVNET will allow Girard to make even more efficient use of taxpayer funds.  The library will be able to greatly expand its collection but remain locally-controlled and community-oriented.  Our patrons will still use their Girard library card and get the same great service they’ve come to expect.

For answers to your reference questions just click on the KnowItNow 24 X7 link  to ask your question. A trained, experienced Reference Librarian will give you real-time answers and assistance on the web!

Patrons using the Internet in the Girard Free Library are expected to read and follow our Internet Use Policy

The library's internet connection is brought to you by the Ohio Public Library Information Network (OPLIN). The website is called the Ohio Web Library.
